STELLA
The Cranbury Public Library is a member of STELLA (Sharing & Technology Enhancing Local Libraries Access) formerly LMxAC.

STELLA is a consortium of 44 (and growing!) libraries in central New Jersey that pool their resources to provide collections, services and programs. By being an active member in STELLA, Cranbury Public Library cardholders have access to over 3 million physical items in the shared collection and a greatly expanded selection of digital materials to download and stream.
Cranbury Public Library cardholders can use the online catalog or STELLA app (available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store) to search and place holds on titles owned by the Cranbury Public Library and other STELLA libraries.
Items from other STELLA libraries can be shipped to the Cranbury Public Library for pick up and be returned to Cranbury, or any other STELLA library.
Cranbury Public Library cardholders may also use their Cranbury Public Library card to checkout materials in-person at other STELLA libraries.
Cranbury cardholders have priority for all Cranbury materials.

Checkout, renewal, and other borrowing policies are set by the lending library and may impose limits on Cranbury Public Library cardholders or otherwise differ from Cranbury Public Library borrowing policies. MURAL
MURAL is a reciprocal borrowing program allowing cardholders in Middlesex and Union counties (and surrounding areas) in New Jersey to borrow physical materials in-person from participating libraries. Many MURAL libraries already belong to the STELLA consortium.

Cranbury Public Library cardholders in good standing may present their Cranbury Public Library card and valid ID at another MURAL library to check out materials in-person.
MURAL libraries not part of STELLA are not included in our online catalog and these materials are not shipped to Cranbury.

ILLs
Cranbury Public Library cardholders may make special requests for materials not available through STELLA. These requests for materials outside of the STELLA consortium are called ILLs (interlibrary loans).
- Requests for interlibrary loans may be made in-person, by phone or email.
- Wait times for requests may vary as these materials come from libraries elsewhere in the state or country and may fall outside of our normal inter-library delivery service area.
- Cardholders will be notified when the material is available for pick up at the Cranbury Public Library.
- Items are checked out immediately to the cardholder.
- Loan conditions are set by the lending library that owns the material and will be disclosed to the Cranbury Public Library cardholder when the material is picked up.
- Interlibrary loan materials must be returned to the Cranbury Public Library and not another STELLA library.
